Beijing — At a major investment forum in China’s capital, renewable energy company GoodWe signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Pakistan’s ZNC Solar. The agreement, witnessed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during the 2nd Pakistan–China Business-to-Business (B2B) Investment Conference, highlights the deepening cooperation between the two countries in the clean energy sector.
Solar Power at the Forefront of Bilateral Talks
GoodWe’s Founder and CEO, Daniel Huang, joined by senior executives James Hou and Fahad Ali, participated in a dedicated session on solar manufacturing and energy storage. The discussion brought together leading enterprises from both nations to explore how technology and investment can speed up Pakistan’s energy transformation.
“Pakistan offers tremendous opportunities in renewable energy,” Huang told the conference, emphasizing that the new agreement strengthens GoodWe’s long-term commitment to helping the country shift toward sustainable power solutions.
Government Support for Energy Transition
Following the signing, GoodWe’s leadership held separate meetings with Pakistan’s ministers of Commerce, Planning, and Industries & Production. According to officials, the government expressed readiness to streamline project approvals and foster collaboration with industry players to accelerate implementation. The endorsement reflects Islamabad’s determination to reduce reliance on fossil fuels and diversify its energy mix with foreign investment and technology.
A Decade of Presence in Pakistan
GoodWe is no stranger to the Pakistani market. Having operated there for more than 10 years, the company has built an extensive sales and service network, launched innovations tailored to local needs, and established itself as a trusted partner in renewable energy. Earlier this year, the firm hosted Pakistan’s Consul General in Shanghai at its headquarters, reaffirming its role as a long-term player in South Asia’s green transition.
Looking Ahead
The MoU with ZNC Solar is expected to open new avenues for solar adoption and energy storage projects in Pakistan—areas critical for ensuring energy resilience amid rising demand. With strong political support and proven private-sector expertise, the collaboration could accelerate Pakistan’s progress toward a cleaner, more sustainable energy future.
