Islamabad – Federal Health Minister Syed Mustafa Kamal on Thursday visited the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC), where he unveiled a newly developed question bank for the upcoming Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT).
The initiative, officials say, is aimed at reducing errors and ensuring greater fairness in the 2025 exam. The minister stressed that negligence in exam preparation would not be tolerated, adding that the reforms are intended to strengthen transparency and merit.
Push for Full Digitization
Kamal also announced that the PMDC will undergo complete digitization, a move he argued would minimize human involvement in routine processes and help curb corruption, nepotism, and administrative delays.
“We are building a system where transparency and performance take precedence over influence or favoritism,” he said during the visit.
Role of PMDC Clarified
The PMDC emphasized that its responsibilities are confined to registering candidates and overseeing the exam process. The actual conduct of the test, it noted, remains with designated public universities to maintain neutrality and merit-based practices.
Accessibility and Oversight
According to officials, more than 30 exam centers have been set up across the country to make the MDCAT accessible to students nationwide. The minister also reviewed the council’s online registration and monitoring portal, which allows real-time oversight of the process.
He further praised the creation of a unified question bank based on a standardized, province-wide curriculum, calling it a key step in leveling the playing field for all candidates.
