KP to Establish New Government Facility Near Islamabad
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has greenlit plans for a new “KP House” to be set up in the Makhnial area of Haripur district, just 15 kilometers from Islamabad.
Part of Annual Development Programme
Official records show the project has been incorporated into the province’s Annual Development Programme (ADP). The Establishment Department has already directed relevant administrative secretaries to move the plan forward.
Location and Land Allocation
To begin groundwork, the deputy commissioner of Haripur has been tasked with identifying suitable state-owned land in Makhnial. The assistant commissioner will provide support in ensuring the land is finalized without delay.
Project Cost and Funding
The construction is expected to require around Rs500 million. Half of that amount—Rs250 million—has been earmarked in the ongoing fiscal year, signaling the government’s intention to kickstart the development quickly rather than push it into the distant future.
Why Another KP House?
KP already maintains a guesthouse in Islamabad, but the new facility, officials explained, is designed to expand administrative presence closer to the federal capital. By situating the building in Haripur’s Makhnial, the province hopes to strengthen accessibility for its officials and improve coordination with federal institutions.
