The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has granted former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif an extension of his protective bail until October 26. Sharif sought to reopen his appeals in the Avenfield and Al-Azizia cases, prompting the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to respond to the court’s letters regarding his requests.
Prior to Sharif’s arrival at the court, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supporters, gathered outside, were involved in an altercation with a civilian who had allegedly insulted Sharif. The PML-N workers claimed they warned the man but resorted to physical confrontation when he persisted. Police intervened and removed the individual, while PML-N supporters expressed their determination not to tolerate insults against their leader.
